ABOUT PRIVATE COACHING
Coaching for the actor: The best environment for actors to train in, is in a classroom with other actors. Since actors work publicly, they must train and prepare by bringing their work up in front of their coach and peers. Plus, actors can learn much by watching other actors work. There are times however, that actors need one-on-one sessions with their coach, for instance when preparing for an important audition. Private acting lessons are in no way meant to replace an acting class, but are meant to enhance and further grow your craft.
Coaching for personal development: The skills that are taught through acting can benefit any individual whether it is to become a better leader, communicator, team player or presenter. The skills developed show up in everyday life and business. If you are not interested in becoming an actor but interested in personal growth, such as; gaining more confidence, becoming a better public speaker or even launch yourself as an on screen personality, our coaches can assist you.

Brandy Hotchner
Private Coaching for Actors, Artists & Creative Professionals
Brandy works privately with actors, artists, and creative professionals whose work calls for focused, individualized exploration. With more than two decades of experience as an actor, director, teacher, artistic leader, and creative entrepreneur, her private practice extends beyond traditional acting coaching to the larger life and work of the artist.
For professional actors, private sessions may focus on audition and role preparation, monologues, Shakespeare, emotional and character work, artistic blocks, or deepening the actor’s craft. Brandy’s work is rooted in the American Method and in helping experienced performers find greater emotional truth, courage, specificity, and freedom in their work.
For artists and creative professionals, coaching may explore creative blocks, periods of transition or stagnation, the development of new work, artistic identity, or the challenge of sustaining a meaningful creative life. Brandy also works with dreams and the creative unconscious, using dream exploration as a way into imagery, intuition, creative discovery, and the deeper questions emerging through an artist’s work.
Brandy’s experience building and leading Arizona Actors Academy also informs her work with artists, teachers, and creative entrepreneurs navigating the business side of an artistic life. Private consulting may include program and curriculum development, building a teaching practice, creative-business strategy, positioning, communication, and translating an artistic vision into something sustainable in the world.
Private work with Brandy is highly individualized. It is best suited to established or serious artists and creative professionals who are looking for more than a single technique or quick answer—and who are ready to investigate the work deeply.
Areas of Private Work Include:
- Professional acting, audition and role preparation
- Shakespeare and classical text
- Method-based exploration and character work
- Creative blocks and artistic development
- Dream Work and the creative unconscious
- Creative career transitions and artistic identity
- Teaching, curriculum and program development
- Creative-business consulting and strategy
