Incredibly heartbreaking news over the weekend about Chadwick. This hit me very hard, because Chadwick seemed to me to be an incredible example of light and love in our timeline. A beacon. He brought the world the black superhero we needed and he owned that, he owned that responsibility with strength, grace and humanity. He was incredible to watch, on screen, in interviews, etc and our world was a little more palatable with him in it. His example remains, as if he showed us how, gave us a legacy and then said, I must leave, but I will not be gone. His courage and resilience to continue his art, share his gift with us while fighting a difficult disease, is a true sign of love. The weekend was full of people sharing stories and expressing the same things I connected with him… it was a celebration of life and this variety article shares a handful of those messages.

Chadwick Boseman, ‘Black Panther’ Star, Dies at 43

If you have not seen this video of Chadwick surprising fans of Black Panther who are sharing how much the movie meant to them, please take a moment. We can never forget the power of representation this movie had on our communities, our neighbors, our brothers and sisters, and we must stay the course moving forward. It is our chance at a better future.

I know Marvel has a lot to think about… I can’t stay I would be open to recasting Black Panther… Marvel has a very specific opportunity to decide how they want to continue the legacy of the character, the legacy of Chadwick’s Black Panther.

Light and love to everyone reading! I hope you are as lucky as me to hold a little of Chadwick Boseman in your heart.

Best… Jacque
