The Emmy’s are this Sunday… September 20th at 5pm P.T.

I’m very curious how it plays out. I’ve caught little bits and pieces of the music awards that have gone for it – most recently last night’s country music award. I won’t lie, late night vibe of landing jokes with no one to laugh, the giving of an award without anticipation, the knowing in advance that you won so you’re on hand to accept… it’s all a little weird, but so is everything else. The ability to create the same energy on camera that an audience gave – that’s a skill! Anyway –  actors instead of musicians trying to create engaging live tv without an audience.. I can’t wait to see how it goes…

This article with Jimmy Kimmel makes me giddy about it…

Host Jimmy Kimmel Braces for “Beautiful Disaster” at Virtual Emmys

A snippet:

One of the best moments of any awards show is the standing ovation for a long-overdue winner. How do you simulate “warmth in the room” if somebody like, say, Catherine O’Hara or Eugene Levy win their first Emmys in nearly 30 years?

Right. Well, there’s only one way available to us, and that is, since we’ll be seeing them in their homes, we will get to see the real warmth from the real people who really love them rather than the people who don’t want to be caught on television not standing for Bob Newhart.

I love this IMDB.com break down of some of the nominated programs and how to stream them. ENJOY!
